NCEES elects Hollandsworth to VP Central Region
Southgate MI —In May 2026, James Hollandsworth, PS, PE, was elected to the position of Vice President Central Region for the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) . Mr. Hollandsworth will serve as the Central Region’s chief administrative officer and will sit with the NCEES Board of Directors. NCEES develops, administers, and scores the standardized examinations used by U.S.states and territories to license professional engineers and surveyors.

With an accomplished career spanning several decades, Mr. Hollandsworth holds dual credentials as a Professional Surveyor and a Professional Engineer. His work has had a profound impact on the advancement of surveying best practices, technological innovation, and mentoring the next generation of professionals.
Commitment to Excellence and Leadership
Throughout his career, Mr. Hollandsworth has held numerous leadership positions within professional organizations, served on key committees, and contributed to the development of surveying standards. He is a member and past president of the Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors. He also serves as a member of the Board of Licensing for the State of Michigan and NCEES representative. Mr. Hollandsworth has also served as the Great Lakes Council Chair for the past two years. His commitment to excellence is reflected in his advocacy for continuing education, ethical practices, and public awareness of the critical role that surveyors play in infrastructure development and land stewardship.
