MDOT approves DBE certification

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) approved Hennessey Engineers’ certification as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) in accordance with MDOT’s DBE Program Procedures on September 8, 2022.

“Certification as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise through the Michigan Department of Transportation positions our firm well for future federally funded work,” said President Joan Hennessey, CPA. “Hennessey Engineers looks forward to working with partner firms on public infrastructure projects throughout Michigan.”

The MDOT DBE program is a federally required program designed to ensure that firms owned and controlled by minorities, women, and other socially and economically disadvantaged persons can grow and become self-sufficient through participating in federally funded MDOT contracts.

As a certified MDOT DBE, Hennessey Engineers may perform work in the following areas:
