Allen Road Grade Separation Project

The project consisted of relocating Allen Road and creating an underpass crossing for CN Railroad north of Van Horn Road. Hennessey Engineers was tasked with relocating a 42-inch DWSD transmission water main, a 12-inch City of Woodhaven water main, and a 24-inch sanitary sewer main. Hennessey also designed a temporary bypass roadway and provided topographic survey, x-sections, easement and boundary preparation.

Hennessey Engineers led the coordination of all utility relocations including DTE, Buckeye Gas, Plains Gas, Marathon, Centurylink, and Qwest Communications.

The temporary road bypass was designed to accommodate Allen Road traffic during construction and involved temporary road closures, detour routes, signage, flag persons, and traffic control devices.
